DSWD, muling iginiit na walang sino mang kandidato ang maaaring gumamit sa programang AKAP

Muling nilinaw ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian na walang sino man ang maaaring gumamit ng programa ng DSWD lalo na ang Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) para sa politikal na interes.

Ito ay sa gitna ng nakatakdang pagsisimula ng campaign period para sa mga lokal na kandidato bukas, March 28, 2025.

Sa pulong balitaan sa DSWD, iginiit ng kalihim na malinaw sa bagong guidelines ng AKAP na hindi ito magagamit sa kampanya.

Kahit rin aniya nakikihiram ang DSWD ng pasilidad ng local government units gaya ng covered court o multi-purpose building sa kanilang payout activities, sisiguraduhin nila hindi mahaluan ng politika ang distribusyon ng AKAP.

Paliwanag pa ng kalihim, tanging ang mga tauhan ng DSWD ang makikitang mamamahagi ng AKAP at bawal ang presensya ng sinumang kandidato o halal na opisyal.

Sa ilalim ng General Appropriations Act, aabot sa P26 billion ang halaga ng pondong nakalaan para sa AKAP ngayong taon para sa target na limang milyong benepisyaryo na ‘below minimum wage earners’. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
