“Secretary Aguda comes from the financial technology sector, an area of our economic life that I have championed as the legislator with the greatest number of fintech related bills and laws. Secretary Aguda also has a strong background in economics, which is welcome for a post so critical to our development. He is very qualified, and my hopes for him and the DICT are up,” ani Salceda.
“This will boost confidence in our capital markets and would be beneficial for investments in the country. A roadmap would certainly help,” sabi ni Salceda.
“I hope he works with the BIR, the Development Bank of the Philippines, and other government agencies collecting fees and charges to digitalize all payments made to the government. We have a very unevolved way of recording payments to the government, involving showing screenshots and verifying transactions one by one. Taxpayers and fee-payers complaining that their payments were not recorded happens too often,” dagdag pa ng kinatawan. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
