Ikawalong multilateral maritime cooperative activity (MMCA) matagumpay na naisagawa ng Pilipinas, Japan, at Estados Unidos sa West Philippine Sea

Matagumpay na isinagawa ng Pilipinas, Japan, at Estados Unidos ang ikawalong Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MMCA) sa West Philippine Sea nitong Biyernes, Marso 28.

Layunin nitong palakasin ang kooperasyon at interoperability ng tatlong bansa sa larangan ng depensa at seguridad sa karagatan.

Kabilang sa mga lumahok sa MMCA ang BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150), AW 109 helicopter, C90 aircraft, at Search and Rescue (SAR) assets ng Philippine Air Force. Mula sa Japan, dumalo ang JS Noshiro (FFM-3) at SH-60K maritime helicopter, habang ang Estados Unidos ay nagpadala ng DDG Shoup (DDG-86), MH-60R naval helicopter, at P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.

Nagsagawa ang mga kalahok ng iba’t ibang pagsasanay gaya ng Communications Check Exercise, Rotary Flight Operations, Maritime Domain Awareness, Division Tactics, at Personnel Exchange.

Ayon kay AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr., ang MMCA ay patuloy na nagpapatibay sa koordinasyon, taktikal na kahandaan, at sama-samang kamalayan ng mga kalahok na bansa sa pagpapanatili ng seguridad sa karagatan. | ulat ni EJ Lazaro
