Kautusan ng SEC ukol sa pagbabahagi ng impormasyon ng kanilang mga kliyente, sinita ng mga senador

Sinita ng mga senador ang isang kautusan ng Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) na nagpapahintulot sa mga lending at financing companies na ibahagi ang impormasyon ng kanilang mga kliyente sa mga collection agencies.

Sa pagdinig ng Senate Subcommittee on Banks tungkol sa hindi patas at makataong paniningil ng ilang lending companies sa mga nangungutang sa kanila, tinukoy ng mga senador ang isang probisyon sa ilalim ng SEC Memorandum Circular 18 series of 2019.

Giniit ni Senador Sherwin Gatchalian na mali ito dahil paglabag ito sa privacy ng isang indibidwal at sa mga privacy laws ng bansa.

Kaya naman pinapabago ni Senador Raffy Tulfo ang memo na ito ng SEC.

Sa pagdinig, sinabi ni Presidential Anti-Orgranized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Spokesperson Winston Casio na nakatanggap sila ng higit 3,000 na reklamo mula sa mga biktimang nagsasabing binantaan sila matapos manghiram ng pera sa mga online ending applications (OLA) at bigong makapagbayad sa tamang oras.

Karamihan aniya sa mga biktima ay nakatanggap ng mga pekeng warrant of arrest, pagmumura, pananakot, at ang iba ay ginamit pa ang mukha sa mga pornographic videos.

Tugon naman ni SEC, agad nilang aaksyunan ang usaping ito.

Sa ngayon ay nagtutulungan na rin ang PAOCC, SEC, at National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) para makasuhan ang mga abusadong online lending applications (OLA). | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
