Malacañang, kumpiyansang mas dadagsa pa ang foreign tourist sa pagpapatupad ng VAT refund program

Tiwala ang Malacañang na mas papalo pa ang dami ng mga turistang nagtutungo sa bansa kasunod ng nakatakdang implementasyon ng VAT refund program.

Sa gitna na din ito ng benepisyong makukuha ng mga turista gaya ng pagkabawas sa kanilang gastos gayung maaari nilang mabawi ang value-added tax o VAT sa mga biniling produkto.

Ayon kay Palace Press Officer at Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, sa panahong wala pang VAT refund na ipinapatupad ay marami ng turistang nagpupunta kayat kumpiyansa silang madaragdagan pa ang foreign tourist sa pagpapatupad ng nasabing insentibo.

Dagdag ni Castro, na tiyak na magbebenepisyo din dito ang traders gayung mas maeengganyo pa ang mga ito na mag-produce ng marami nilang item na itinitinda.

Sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 12079, ang mga dayuhang turista sa Pilipinas ay maaaring makakuha ng VAT refund para sa mga produkto gaya ng damit, fashion accessories, sapatos, electronic gadget, souvenir, pagkain at iba pang consumable products. | ulat ni Alvin Baltazar
