Nanawagan si Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado ng mas maigting na pagbabantay sa illegal na paglabas ng mga Pilipino sa bansa.

Ito ay matapos mabunyag na 54 sa mga Pilipinong biktima ng human trafficking mula Myanmar ay posibleng dumaan sa backdoor exit.

Ayon kay Viado, ginagamit ng mga sindikato ang maliliit na bangka upang illegal na ihatid ang mga biktima palabas ng bansa.

Dagdag pa niya, ang pagpapatibay ng regulasyon ay tugma sa kampanya ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. laban sa human trafficking.

Ayon sa Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, dapat palakasin ng LGUs at law enforcement agencies ang pagbabantay sa mga illegal na exit points.

Bukod dito, isusulong din ni Viado ang pagpapataw ng legal na parusa sa mga Pilipino na lumalabas ng bansa nang illegal.
