Metro Manila, di kakapusin ng suplay ng tubig sa panahon ng tag-init — MWSS

Hindi inaasahan ng Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) na magkakaroon ng kakulangan sa suplay ng tubig sa Metro Manila sa pagpasok ng tag-init.

Ayon kay MWSS Engineering and Technical Operations Group Acting Deputy Administrator Patrick James Dizon, sapat ang suplay ng tubig sa Metro Manila kahit inaasahang tataas pa ang demand habang umiinit ang panahon.

Dagdag pa ni Dizon, maliit ang posibilidad na bumaba sa “critical” level na 180 meters ang antas ng tubig sa Angat Dam ngayong tag-init.

Sa latest monitoring ng PAGASA Hydromet, nasa 213.26 meters ang water level ng Angat Dam, na mas mataas kumpara sa normal na elevation na 200 meters.

Base rin sa average na pagbaba ng antas ng tubig, tinatayang aabot ito sa 201 meters pagsapit ng katapusan ng Abril at 194 meters sa katapusan ng Mayo, na mas mataas kaysa sa 188 meters na naitala noong Mayo 2024.

Kung magkakaroon naman ng water interruption, posible aniyang ito ay dahil sa mga regular maintenance at pagkukumpuni ng mga tagas ng water concessionaires.

Patuloy naman ang paalala ng MWSS sa publiko na maging responsable sa pagkonsumo nila ng tubig. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
