Kinalma ng Philippine Navy ang publiko kaugnay sa nakita umanong usok sa BRP Sierra Madre nitong nakalipas na buwan.

Ayon kay Philippine Navy Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, nagsasagawa lamang ng fire drill ang mga sundalong nakahimpil sa naturang barko ng Pilipinas.

Gumamit aniya ang mga ito ng highly combustible materials ngunit napalakas ang nilikhang usok nito gawa ng malakas na hangin sa lugar subalit agad naman itong naapula at naging matagumpay ang pagsasanay.

Una rito, naglabas ng pahayag ang China na nagdudulot umano ng polusyon ang barko ng Pilipinas sa Ayungin Shoal na bahagi ng pinag-aagawang teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea.

Pero iginiit ni Trinidad na walang pinsalang tinamo ang BRP Sierra Madre at wala rin itong naging epekto sa mga likas yaman sa lugar taliwas sa mga ipinakalat na maling impormasyon ng China. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
