Iniimbestigahan na ng Philippine Coast Guard at iba pang tanggapan ng pamahalaan kung sino ang nasa likod ng nasabat na smuggled na sigarilyo sa Port of Manila.

Ayon sa PCG, gagawin nila ang lahat para mapanagot ang mga salarin base na rin sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos na palakasin ang operation laban sa smuggling and illicit trade.

Nitong March 5 nang buksan ang nakumpiskang mga kahon matapos maharang ang undeclared cargo shipment ng MV St. Michael sa Port of Manila.
