Petisyong nag-oobliga sa Kongreso na bumuo ng Anti-Dynasty Law, inihain sa Supreme Court

Isang petisyon ang inihain sa Korte Suprema na nag-oobliga sa kongreso na tukuyin kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng “political dynasty” alinsunod sa Saligang Batas.

Ayon sa petitioners, nakasaad sa 1987 Constitution na inaatasan ang Kongreso na lumikha ng batas na pinagbabawalan ang political dynasties pero walang nangyayari makalipas ang apat na dekada.

Sa ngayon, pinatutukoy sa kanila kung ano ang depinisyon para matawag na isang political dynasty.

Kaya hinihiling din nila sa SC na obligahin ang Kongreso na magpasa ng anti-dynasty law.

Inihain ang petisyon nina dating Associate Justice Antonio Carpio na kumakatawan para sa 1Sambayan Coalition, dating Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, Prof. Cielo Magno, Prof. Dante Gatmaytan, Prof. Solita “Winnie” Monsod, Atty. Christian Monsod, Advocates for National Interest (ANI), UP Law Class 1975, Sanlakas, apat na obispo at pitong pari ng Simbahang Katolika.

Respondents naman dito sina Senate President Chiz Escudero, at House Speaker Martin Romualdez para sa dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso. | ulat ni Don King Zarate
