Plano ng NBI na makipagtulungan sa Interpol upang habulin ang Pinoy vloggers sa ibang bansa na nagpapakalat ng fake news, welcome development

Suportado ng Malacañang ang plano ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na makipagtulungan na sa Interpol upang mapauwi sa Pilipinas ang mga vlogger na nakatira sa ibang bansa, at nagpapakalat ng fake news.

Sa press briefing sa Malacañang, sinabi ni Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro na nagpapasalamat ang Palasyo sa inisyatibong ito ng NBI, na makakatulong sa kampanya ng Marcos Administration upang labanan ang fake news at disinformation sa bansa.

Sabi ng opisyal, kung tutuusin dapat matagal nang ipinatupad ang hakbang na ito lalo’t dumadami ang mga vlogger na nagkakalat ng maling impormasyon.

“Opo, dapat noon pa. Dumadami na ang fake news vloggers at dapat noon pa nasimulan ito, kaya maraming salamat sa NBI.” -Usec. Castro

Kung matatandaan, una nang kinumpirma ni NBI Director Jaime Santiago ang hakbang na ito ng kanilang tanggapan.

Batid rin aniya nila ang pagiging kumplikado nito sa aspetong legal, lalo’t mayroong mga bansa na ang libel ay itinuturing lamang bilang isang civil case at hindi isang criminal offense. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
