Residente ng Baseco Compound, may laban na kontra baha — DPWH

Tiniyak ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na mas ligtas na ngayon laban sa pagbaha ang mga residente ng Baseco Compound sa Port Area, Maynila.

Ito ay matapos palawigin ng ahensya ang kanilang flood control project sa lugar.

Ayon kay DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, nadagdagan ng 272.8 metro ang slope protection structure sa kahabaan ng riverside ng Baseco.

Ang proyektong ito na nagkakahalaga ng P96.49 milyon ay pang-apat na bahagi ng kabuuang flood control initiative sa lugar.

Bukod sa pag-iwas sa pagbaha, layunin din nitong pigilan ang soil erosion at mapabuti ang kalidad ng tubig sa ilog.

Tatlong naunang phases na nagkakahalaga ng P285.34 milyon ang natapos na, at may tatlong susunod pang phases na popondohan sa ilalim ng 2025 General Appropriations Act. | ulat ni Lorenz Tanjoco
