Binigyang diin ni Senate Committee on Basic Education Chairman Senador Sherwin Gatchalian na hindi dapat tumigil ang pamahalaan para mapanagot ang mga nasa likod ng pang-aabuso sa sistema ng Senior High School-Voucher Program (SHS-VP) ng Department of Education (DepEd).

Pinapahayag ito ni Gatchalian, kasunod ng pagkaka-recover ng 65 million pesos mula sa naging iregularidad sa SHS-VP.

Ayon sa Senador, bagamat maituturing nang malaking tagumpay ang pagkaka-recover ng 65 million pesos mula sa iregularidad, malaking halaga pa aniya ang kailangang mabawi.

Dapat aniyang pagsumikapan ng DepEd na mabawi ang bawat sentimong napunta sa mga ghost beneficiaries ng programa.

Base aniya sa naging pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Basic Education noong nakaraang taon, natuklasan na mula school years 2020-2021 at 2022-2023, may 11,282 SHS-VP beneficiaries ang may documentation issues at ang inaasahang refund ay aabot sa 310.4 million pesos.

Sa halagang ito, nasa 71.1 million pesos pa lang aniya ang narerefund.

Nanawagan rin si Gatchalian na patatagin pa ang Senior High School-Voucher Program (SHS-VP) para hindi na ito maabuso at magamit sa panlilinlang. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
