The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) heightened their commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and orderly election process for the upcoming 2025 Midterm Elections with the Memorandum of Agreement signing on April 4 at the Chairman’s Hall, Palacio del Gobernador, Intramuros, Manila.
The event was led by COMELEC Chairperson George Erwin Garcia; LtGen Jimmy D Larida, Vice Chief of Staff of the AFP, representing AFP Chief of Staff, General Romeo S Brawner Jr.; and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, PGen Rommel D Marbil. Together, they outlined the government’s comprehensive security measures to safeguard the electoral process and ensure the integrity of the elections.
In his address, LtGen Larida emphasized the AFP’s commitment as it stands ready to carry out its mandate with dedication, impartiality, and unwavering adherence to the Constitution in support to the integrity of the electoral process.
“Today, we reaffirm the strong partnership between the AFP and COMELEC in safeguarding the sanctity of our democratic process,” LtGen Larida said. “As stipulated in this agreement, the AFP is committed to ensuring that the 2025 national and local elections are conducted in a free, orderly, honest, peaceful, and credible manner in adherence to the Constitution.”
