AFP, dumistansya sa anunsyo ng US State Department hinggil sa pagbili ng Pilipinas ng mga bagong F-16 fighter jets

Ipinauubaya na ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa Department of National Defense (DND) ang paglalabas ng pahayag kaugnay sa naging anunsyo ng US State Department.

Ito’y may kaugnayan sa pagbili umano ng Pilipinas ng 20 FA16 fighter plane mula sa Amerika na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit $5 bilyong dolyar o katumbas ng mahigit ₱300 bilyong piso.

Nang hingan ng pahayag sina AFP Spokesperson, Col. Francel Margareth Padilla at Philippine Air Force Spokesperson, Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo, sinabi nilang hindi sila maglalabas ng anumang pahayag maliban kung ito’y nai-turnover na sa kanila.

Gayunman, kanilang sinabi na bilang “end user,” anumang kagamitang ibibigay sa kanila ay makatutulong para sa kanilang pagtupad sa mandato na bantayan at ipagtanggol ang teritoryo ng bansa. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
