COMELEC, sinimulan na ang opisyal na botohan para sa Internet Voting ng mga OFW

Opisyal nang sinimulan ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang internet voting para sa mga rehistradong overseas Filipino voters sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo, ito ay matapos ang tatlong linggong test voting.

Ayon sa pahayag ng COMELEC, sinimulan ang opisyal na pagboto, 8:00 AM, lokal na oras ng bawat bansa araw ng Abril 13 kung saan naka-enroll ang mga botante sa Online Voting and Counting System o OVCS. Unang bumoto ang mga nasa New Zealand bandang 4:00 AM, oras sa Pilipinas, sinundan ng mga nasa Australia, Japan, Korea, at iba pang bahagi ng Asya, Gitnang Silangan, Europa, hanggang sa mga bansa sa Amerika.

Itinataguyod ng naturang sistema ang mas mabilis at ligtas na paraan ng pagboto, kung saan tiniyak ng Election Verifier System na maayos at tumpak ang naging resulta ng test voting. Kabilang sa mga nagbantay sa proseso ang mga opisyal ng COMELEC, mga IT expert, at kinatawan mula sa PPCRV.

Magpapatuloy ang internet voting hanggang Mayo 12, 2025, alas-7 ng gabi oras sa Pilipinas, kasabay ng pagtatapos ng halalan sa bansa.

Hinihikayat ng COMELEC ang lahat ng overseas voters na samantalahin ang makabagong paraang ito upang makilahok sa halalan. | ulat ni EJ Lazaro
