Gumagana na ang regional operations centers ng Department of Tourism (DOT) upang magbantay sa mga tourist destination ngayong Semana Santa.

“Habang papalapit ang Mahal na Araw, inaasahan ng Department of Tourism ang pagdagsa ng halos tatlumpung milyong lokal at banyagang turista sa iba’t ibang destinasyon sa bansa.” -Usec. Castro

Sa press briefing, sinabi ni Communications Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, na layon ng hakbang na ito na masiguro ang maayos na pangangasiwa sa mga tourist attraction at gawing ligtas ang karanasan ng mga turista.

“Ang mga operations centers na ito nakatalaga upang mag-monitor at mag-cooperate at makipag-coordinate sa mga pangunahing tourist spots layuning masiguro ang maayos na pamamahala at karanasang ligtas para sa lahat.” -Usec. Castro

Ayon kay Usec. Castro, ang regional operations center ang magmo-monitor ng sitwasyon sa mga pasyalan at ito rin ang makikipag-ugnayan sa kaukulang mga ahensya ng gobyerno, sakaling mayroon concern na kailangang tugunan.

Base sa pagtataya ng pamahalaan, papalo sa 30 milyon ang mga lokal at dayuhang turista na iikot sa Pilipinas ngayong Holy Week.
