Nilinaw ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na walang kagyat na banta o pagtataas ng alerto sa hanay ng militar.

Ito’y kasunod ng naging pahayag ni AFP Chief of Staff, General Romeo Brawner Jr. sa anibersaryo ng Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) kamakalawa hinggil sa posibleng pananakop ng China sa Taiwan.

Sa inilabas na kalatas, binigyang-diin ni AFP Public Affairs Office Chief, Col. Xerxes Trinidad na ang pahayag ni Brawner ay nakatuon sa paghahanda bilang ito naman ay bahagi ng kanilang mandato na protektahan ang mga Pilipino at bantayan ang teritoryo.

Partikular na rito ani Trinidad ang paglilikas sa may 250,000 na mga Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) sa Taiwan sa sandali ngang lumala ang sitwasyon.

Bilang responsableng Sandatahang Lakas, patuloy ang istratehikong pagpaplano ng AFP upang tugunan ang mga nagbabagong seguridad at tiniyak nito na propesyunal nilang gagampanan ang kanilang mandato na magbantay. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
