Unang babaeng 2-Star General ng PCG, binati ni DBM Sec. Pangandaman

Nagpaabot ng pagbati si Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Auxiliary Rear Admiral Amenah “Mina” Pangandaman kay Rear Admiral Mitzie Silva-Campo, ang kauna-unahang babaeng 2-star general ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Ayon kay Pangandaman, ang pagkakatalaga kay Silva-Campo ay isang makasaysayang tagumpay na nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa lahat ng kababaihan, lalo na sa mga babaeng nasa serbisyo.

Bago naging bahagi ng PCG, nagsimula si Silva-Campo bilang opisyal sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at humawak ng iba’t ibang posisyon sa Coast Guard hanggang sa italaga bilang Commander ng Coast Guard Internal Audit Service.

Noong Oktubre 2021, siya rin ang unang babaeng one-star general sa PCG.

Pinatunayan ni Silva-Campo, na kayang magtagumpay ng kababaihan sa ano mang larangan lalo na sa paglilingkod sa bayan. | ulat ni Lorenz Tanjoco
