JICA at MMDA, magpapatupad ng bagong Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) sa Metro Manila

Sisimulan na ng Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang bagong proyekto para sa pagpapatibay ng Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) sa Metro Manila.

Pebrero 21, nilagdaan nina JICA Philippines Chief Representative Sakamoto Takema at MMDA Chairperson Romando Artes ang kasunduan para sa tatlong-taong Technical Cooperation Project (TCP).

Layunin nitong pahusayin ang sistema ng trapiko sa pamamagitan ng makabagong teknolohiya, kabilang ang pagpaplano ng ITS, pagbili ng mga bagong kagamitan, at pagtatayo ng traffic data management system.

Bahagi ito ng Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan ng pamahalaan, alinsunod sa limang taong Action Plan on Traffic Management ng MMDA at 17 LGU members nito.

Ang proyektong ito ay susuporta rin sa iba pang JICA-assisted infrastructure projects tulad ng Metro Manila Subway at North-South Commuter Railway, na layong mapabuti ang transportasyon sa bansa. | ulat ni EJ Lazaro
