Personal remittances ng OFWs, tumaas ng 2.9% noong Enero 2025

Tumaas ng 2.9 percent ang personal remittances mula sa mga overseas Filipinos (OFs) noong Enero 2025, na umabot sa US$3.24 bilyon kumpara sa US$3.15 bilyon na naitala noong Enero 2024.

Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), ang pagtaas ay naobserbahan sa remittances mula sa parehong land-based at sea-based na mga manggagawang Pilipino sa ibang bansa.

Mula sa kabuuang personal remittances, ang cash remittances na dumaan sa mga bangko ay umabot sa US$2.92 bilyon mas mataas din ng 2.9% kumpara sa US$2.84 bilyon noong kaparehong buwan ng nakaraang taon.

Ayon sa BSP, ang pagtaas sa cash remittances ay pangunahing dulot ng mas mataas na padala mula sa Saudi Arabia, Estados Unidos, Singapore, at United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sa tala ng mga bansang pinagmumulan ng cash remittances, nanguna ang Estados Unidos bilang may pinakamalaking bahagi sa kabuuang remittances, na sinundan ng Singapore at Saudi Arabia.

Patuloy ang mahalagang papel ng remittances sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas bilang isa sa mga pangunahing pinagmumulan ng dolyar, at suporta sa kabuhayan ng maraming pamilyang Pilipino. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
