Mas magiging “efficient” ang healthcare agenda ng bansa sakaling ilipat ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) sa ilalim ng pamamahala ng Office of the President (OP).
Ito ang pahayag ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa sa isang pulong balitaan ngayong Lunes.
“It’s a management thing if you want to make something more efficient. If we’re trying to think about this, I think the President wants to have better and more efficient health care financing kasi gusto niyang tutukan [because he wants to focus on it]. If you put in the [Office of the] President, mas madaling matutukan [it’s easier to be focused on].”
Paliwanag pa ng kalihim, may kalayaan ang executive branch na i-realign ang management ng anumang ahensya ng pamahalaan.
Bagamat ani Herbosa, ang legislative branch naman ang kailangang gumawa ng amyenda sa mandato ng PhilHealth kung kinakailangan.
Dagdag pa ng opisyal, marami ng ahensya ng pamahalaan ang inilipat ang management sa ibang ahensya tulad ng Commission on Higher Education para mas maging “efficient” ang pamamalakad.
