Ayon kay Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil, malaki ang maiaambag ni Remolona sa kaniyang bagong papel dahil sa lawak ng karanasan nito at achievement sa central banking, economic policy, international finance, at financial markets.

Pupunan ni Remolona ang babakantehing pwesto ni BSP Governor Felipe Medalla sa July 2.
“Remolona has published over 5,500 citations in leading journals in economics and finance. His contributions to the field of finance are further highlighted by his role as an Associate Editor for Finance of the International Journal of Central Banking from 2005 to 2022.” — Secretary Garafil.
Bago ang appointment ni Remolona sa BSP, dati na rin itong nagsilbi sa Federal Reserve Bank of New York at Bank for International Settlements (BIS), kung saan naglingkod ito bilang Regional Head for Asia and the Pacific.
