DA at BOC, nakakumpiska pa ng P2.8 M smuggled frozen meat sa Bulacan

Karagdagan pang 14,000 kilo ng smuggled frozen agricultural goods na nagkakahalaga ng P2.8 milyon ang nasabat sa Meycauayan, Bulacan.

Nadiskubre ito sa isinagawang follow-up joint inspection ng Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Customs, NMIS at iba pang law enforcement agencies sa isang warehouse na umano’y nag-ooperate nang walang business permit.

Dalawang makeshift cold storage container ang nakita na naglalaman ng iba’t ibang frozen meat at dalawang sasakyang may expired na meat products ang natuklasan sa bodega.

Walong katao ang inaresto ng pulisya, na mahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa Republic Act No. 10611 o Food Safety Act of 2013.

Una nang nakakumpiska ng abot sa 175,000 kilos na imported meat products ang DA sa Meycauayan noong Hulyo 11 na nagkakahalaga ng P35 million. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
