Larong Pinoy, Para-Games, weightlifting at iba pang exhibition games, itatampok sa Palarong Pambansa

Ibibida na rin ng Department of Education ang Indigenous Filipino Games o Laro ng Lahi sa darating na 2023 Palarong Pambansa.

Ayon sa DepEd, layon nila na mabigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng culture at sports sa pagbabalik ng naturang patimpalak matapos na mahinto ng tatlong taon dahil sa COVID-19.

Bukod sa Indigenous Filipino Games, magiging bahagi rin ng exhibition sports ang Cheerdance, Weightlifting at Obstacle Course. Habang parte naman ng demonstration sports ang dance sports at pencak silat.

Pagmamalaki pa ng kagawaran, may hiwalay na sporting events ang mga atleta na may intellectual disability, visually impaired at orthopedically handicapped or amputee gaya ng Para-Athletics, Para-Swimming, Bocce at Goalball.

Aabot sa mahigit 1,500 medalya ang paglalabanan ng mga atleta sa Regular Sports, Para-Games, at Demo Sports sa Palarong Pambansa ngayong taon.

Isasagawa ang Palarong Pambansa 2023 simula sa July 29 hanggang August 5 sa Marikina City na siyang host ng naturang patimpalak. | ulat ni Diane Lear
