Sa press briefing sa Malacañang, sinabi ni Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Spokesperson Teresita Daza, na bukod sa Philippine business delegation na makakasama ng Pangulo sa Malaysia simula July 25-27, kasama rin ng Pangulo ang ilang miyembro ng gabinete mula sa kaniyang economic team.
Magkakaroon aniya ng aktibidad ang mga kalihim, kung saan haharap ang mga ito sa Malaysia businessmen.
Ayon sa opisyal, umaasa ang pamahalaan ng mga panibagong investment pledge na maiuuwi ng Philippine delegation mula sa State Visit na ito ng Pangulo sa Malaysia.
“We’re also expecting that the meeting with key Malaysian businessmen and business leaders will hopefully generate investment pledges from Malaysian companies. As you all know, Malaysia is the top 10 trading partner of the Philippines and the top 22nd source of approved investments in the Philippines in 2022. Malaysia also ranks top 20 in terms of source of tourist arrivals in 2023. As expected, the President will actively promote the Philippines as an attractive trade investment and tourist destination.” —Spokesperson Daza
