Positibo si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., na marami pang achievement ang maaabot ng Philippine Army sa ilalim ng pamumuno ng bagong commanding general nito na si Lt. Gen. Roy Galido.
Sa Change of Command ceremony ng PA sa Fort Bonifacio sa Taguig City ngayong araw, sinabi ng pangulo na batid niya kung paano magtrabaho ang opisyal.
Dahil aniya sa galing at dedikasyon ng heneral at ng buong Philippine Army, lalakas pa ang hanay nito.
“I look forward to working with you further. and I am confident you will guide the army to reach more milestones in our campaign in our country to end insurgency and tourism threat as well as to address the lingering and emerging threats to now our national security.” saad ni Pangulong Marcos.
Umaasa rin ang Pangulo na tututukan ng heneral ang pagpapaigting ng Army, upang maging world class force ang kanilang hanay na mangunguna sa pagsusulong ng kapayapaan at seguridad ng bansa.
“I urge everyone towards building an army that is agile, adaptable and competitive. Works well with its partner stakeholders and especially our citizens.” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Paalala ni Pangulong Marcos, upang maging matagumpay ang kanilang mandato at misyon, kailangan, maging mahigpit ang kooperasyon ng AFP sa mga mamamayan.
Samantala, ginamit rin ng Pangulo ang pagkakataon upang pasalamatan ang si General Romeo Brawer sa papel na ginampanan nito sa matagumpay na laban ng bansa kontra insurhensiya, noong siya pa ang Commanding General ng PA.
“Under your leadership, we have established the firm defense against insurgency and terrorism by dismantling guerrilla fronts and intensifying our peace building efforts. Through your initiatives to fortify our internal security, the army has contributed to the development of conflict affected communities and our overall progress as a nation.” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Sa huli, siniguro ng pangulo ang buong suporta ng kaniyang administrasyon sa patuloy na modernisasyon ng AFP.
