Isusulong ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang interes ng Pilipinas sa energy security, sa gagawin nitong pakikibahagi sa Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit sa San Francisco, California sa Nobyembre.
“I look forward to joining fellow APEC Leaders in California later this year. This will be my third trip to the US since I assumed office,” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Sabi ng pangulo, partikular na interesado ang bansa sa sustainable lands, water, at ocean solutions, lalo’t nakalinya ang mga usaping ito sa climate goals ng bansa.
Susuporta rin aniya ito sa plano ng pamahalaan na i-transform ang Pilipinas tungo sa pagiging upper Middle-Income Country sa 2025.
Inihayag rin ng pangulo ang interes sa nuclear energy, lalo na sa gitna ng mga makabagong teknolohiya, na nagbibigay daan sa paggamit ng modular, nuclear reactors, at advanced technology.

That being the case, I am interested in the potential of nuclear energy, especially in light of new technologies and innovations that allow the use of smaller scale, modular, nuclear reactors, and other advanced [reactors] technologies that we see as being safer and more efficient than the more traditional designs of nuclear power production.” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Umaasa si Pangulong Marcos Jr. ng mas marami pang engagement na kabibilangang ng pamahalaan at pribadong sektor, lalo na sa pag-mobilize ng financial resources para sa investments, sa linya ng critical infrastructure, research at development, at human capital development.
