Sinimulan na ng mga student-tutor ng Tara Basa! Tutoring Program ang pagtuturo sa mga mag-aaral na hirap at hindi marunong magbasa.
Ayon sa Department of Social Welfare and Development, umarangkada na ngayong araw ang simultaneous reading session sa Grade 1 beneficiaries sa Sta. Ana Elementary School sa Pateros.
Bawat student-tutor ay nagtuturo ng 10 mag aaral sa bawat session.
Ang mga student-tutor ay sinanay ng Department of Social Welfare and Development at sa tulong ng Ateneo Center for Educational Development.
Sila ay mga college student na nagmula sa low-income families na tinutulungan ng DSWD sa ilalim ng cash-for-work scheme.
Binabayaran sila ng P500 kada araw sa loob ng 20 araw kapalit ng kanilang serbisyo. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
