Pina-contempt at pinapa-detain ng House Committees on Public Accounts at Suffrage and Electoral Reforms si Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba.
Kaugnay pa rin ito sa imbestigasyon ng naturang mga komite tungkol sa iligal na paglalabas ng pondo ng Cagayan Provincial Government sa gitna ng campaign period noong nakaraang taon.
Ang Contempt Order laban kay Mamba ay dahil sa makailang beses na bigong pagdalo sa pagdinig at “undue interference in the conduct of proceeding” dahil sa hindi nagbibigay ng travel authority sa ibang opisyal ng probinsya para makadalo sa pagdinig.
“Since the governor of Cagayan was not able to obey the processes of these two committees, in the spirit of equitable provision of the law, I move that we cite the governor of Cagayan for contempt, Mr. Chair,” sabi ni Antipolo City Representative Romeo Acop sa pagdinig.
Matapos nito, nagmosyon din si Acop na madetine si Mamba.
“As what we have done with the other officers of the provincial government of Cagayan that after they have been cited in contempt we move for the detention of the people who are cited in contempt. Therefore, Mr. Chair may I respectfully move that Governor Mamba be detained pursuant to our rules,” ani Acop.
Hindi dumalo ang gobernador sa naturang pagdinig nitong Huwebes.
Na-cite in contempt din si Cagayan Provincial Information Officer (PIO) Rogelio Sending dahil sa hindi pagsunod sa patawag sa kanya ng mga komite ng walang legal na batayan.
