Maliban sa pagsuporta sa koponan ng Pilipinas ay hangad ni Speaker Martin Romualdez ang matagumpay na pag-host ng Pilipinas ng FIBA World Cup 2023.
Malaki ang paniwala ni Romualdez, na dahil sa pagiging host ng Pilipinas ng FIBA World Cup ay mapupukaw ng bansa ang atensyon ng mga mahilig sa basketball.
Umaasa ang House leader, na hindi lang ang galing sa palakasan ang ipapakita ng bansa ngunit maging ang kahusayan sa pagsasaayos ng kompetisyon, at ang mayamang kultura nito ng basketball.
“It is a moment of pride that Manila will be at the epicenter of this grand tournament, hosting the medal rounds and offering a stage for basketball giants from all over the globe,” ani Speaker Romualdez.
“We have eagerly awaited this opportunity for years, and now the time has come for us to share our enthusiasm with the world. We are not just hosting a sporting event; we are inviting all to experience a piece of our culture, our joy, our unity, and our pride,” dagdag pa ng lider ng Kamara.
Ipinarating din ni Speaker Romualdez ang kanyang pasasalamat at pagbati sa mga manlalaro na lalahok sa kompetisyon kasama ang 12 miyembro ng Gilas Pilipinas.
