Kalidad ng mga bigas, tututukan na rin ng DTI

Sunod na iinspeksyunin ng Department of Trade and Industry ang mga kalidad ng murang bigas na ibinebenta sa mga palengke.

Ayon kay DTI Asec. Agaton Uvero, nakarating sa kanila ang mga report na may ilang rice retailers ang nagbebenta ng murang bigas pero may amoy naman at madilaw.

Nagpatulong na aniya sila sa National Food Authority para ma-train ang kanilang mga tauhan sa pagsuri ng kalidad ng bigas.

Paliwanag ng opisyal, hindi naman sila bihasa sa pagtukoy kung tunay nga bang regular o well-milled rice ang mga ito.

Sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 39 ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na nag-aatas ng pagbebenta ng murang bigas, ang regular milled rice ay dapat ibenta lang sa halagang P41 habang P45 naman sa well-milled rice. | ulat ni Lorenz Tanjoco
