Siniguro ni Appropriations Committee Senior Vice Chair Stella Quimbo na magpapatuloy pa rin ang PNR South Long-Haul project.

Sa pagsalang ng plenary deliberation ng 2024 General Appropriations Bill, nausisa ni Camarines Sur Representative Gabriel Bordado kung ano na ang status ng railway project pa-Bicol.

Aniya, 2018 pa lang kasi ay nagsasagawa na ng feasibility studies para sa proyekto ngunit matapos kanselhain ang kontrata kasama ang China ay tila nakalimutan na ito.

Ani Quimbo, mismong ang economic managers ang nangangako na tatapusin ang proyekto.

Katunayan, mayroong inilaang P3.80 billion sa susunod na taon para magsagawa ng feasibility studies na bahagi ng initial phase ng proyekto.

Hinahanapan na rin aniya ngayon ng alternatibong funding source ang programa, dahil nga sa nakanselang financing agreement kasama ang China. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
