Makasaysayang gold medal win ng Pilipinas sa 19th Asian Games, pinuri ni Speaker Romualdez

Kaisa si Speaker Martin Romualdez sa pagbubunyi ng Pilipinas sa makasaysayang panalo ng Gilas Pilipinas sa 19th Asian Games.

Matapos ang 61 taong tagtuyot ay nasungkit ng national basketball team ang gintong medalya nang talunin ang bansang Jordan sa score na 70-60.

Ayon sa House leader, ang kamangha-manghang laro na ito ng Gilas ay tiyak aniyang pag-uusapan sa mahabang panahon. 

“With immense pride and joy, we stand united with the entire Filipino nation in celebrating this historic moment. Gilas Pilipinas has accomplished something truly extraordinary, securing our country’s first Asian Games basketball gold medal in 61 years, leaving an indelible mark in the annals of sports history,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Ang tagumpay na ito ng Gilas Pilipinas ay patunay aniya sa determinasyon at dedikasyon ng mga Pilipinong atleta.

Kasabay nito ay pinasalamatan at kinilala din ni Romualdez ang tulong ng mga coach at staff ng national team sa nakamit na tagumpay.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to every member of Gilas Pilipinas, their coaches, and the entire support staff who played an integral role in this exceptional achievement. You have made our country proud, and your victory will serve as an enduring inspiration for generations of Filipino athletes striving for excellence. Mabuhay ang Gilas Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang atletang Pilipino!” dagdag nito

Huling nakakuha ng gold medal ang Pilipinas sa naturang palaro noong 1962 sa Jakarta, Indonesia Asian Games sa pangunguna ng yumaong Fiba Hall of Famer na si Carlos Loyzaga.
