Pagbabantay sa SIM Card Registration at National ID database, dapat higpitan para di matulad sa PhilHealth hacking

Nagbabala si Deputy Minority Leader France Castro sa pamahalaan na magdoble ingat sa pagprotekta ng datos sa SIM registration at National ID.

Ito ay kasunod pa rin nang naging hacking sa database ng PhilHealth.

Tinukoy nito ang report ng National Privacy Commission kung saan nasa 734 gigabytes (GB) ng datos, kasama ang personal at sensitibong impormasyon ng mga miyembro ang nakuha matapos ang ransomware attack ng grupong Medusa.

“This is really shocking considering that millions of PhilHealth members data are in there. Now imagine if these hackers target the database of the SIM registration as well as that of the national ID system, majority of Filipinos private data would be compromised,” sabi ni Castro.

Hirit naman ng mambabatas na imbes na bigyan ng confidential fund ang Department of Information and Technology ay pondohan na lang ang pagbuo nito ng pinakamatibay na cyberdefense system upang mailayo sa hacking ang mga government agencies at iba pang tagapangalaga ng mga datos.

“The DICT should build unhackable systems or at the very least the best cyberdefense available so that we would not be a favorite target of hackers… Dito sana mapunta ang pondo ng DICT at ‘wag na sa confidential fund na wala naman din sa kanilang mandato,” dagdag ng kinatawan. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
