Pag-alis ng confidential fund sa ilang mga ahensya, ikinatuwa ng Gabriela Party-list solon

Pinuri ni Assistant Minority Leader at Gabriela Party-list Representative Arlene Brosas ang desisyon ng small committee ng Kamara na alisin ang confidential funds ng ilang ahensya ng pamahalaan sa ilalim ng 2024 General Appropriations Bill (GAB).

Ayon kay Brosas nakinig ang Kamara sa panawagan ng publiko na alisin ang CF para sa transparency at accountability.

“The overwhelming public clamor to remove and realign confidential funds has prompted Congress to realign such corruption-prone allocations. This is a huge win for the vast majority of FIlipino people calling for transparency and accountability in government spending,” ani Brosas.

Dahil naman sa batid ng mambabatas na dadaan pa ang panukalang pambansang pondo sa deliberasyon ng Senado ay tiyak aniyang magbabantay sila para masigurong hindi ito maibabalik.

Noon kasing nakaraang taon, nang sumalang sa Bicam ang 2023 National Budget ay ibinalik ang ₱150-million na confidential fund ng Department of Education (DepEd) na una nang inalis ng Kamara.

Kung kakayanin aniya, dapat ay alisin na ang lahat ng confidential funds at ilipat na lamang ito sa social services.

“However, we still have a long way to go. As the Senate deliberates the proposed 2024 National Budget, we will strengthen our call to completely remove all confidential funds and realign it to social services and programs,” dagdag nito.
