Target ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na ilarga na ang full-scale pilot implementation ng WALANG GUTOM 2027: Food Stamp Program (FSP) sa buwan ng Disyembre.
Inanunsyo ito ni DSWD Undersecretary for Innovations Eduardo Punay matapos ang ikaapat na Redemption Day sa pilot beneficiaries in Tondo, Manila kahapon.
Ayon kay Usec. Punay, dahil sa inilabas na EO 44 na Pangulong Marcos Jr. na nagdedeklara sa food stamp bilang flagship program ng administrasyon, masisiguro na ang pondo para sa pagpapatuloy ng programa sa 2024.
“First and foremost, by declaring that it is a priority program, we are assured of funding next year so makakasama po ito sa General Appropriations Act – sa national budget next year. Secondly, and very important, is yung participation ng other agencies kasi through the EO, which is institutionalizing the program, DSWD is assured of support from other agencies,” Usec. Punay.
Dahil dito, inaasahang mas marami pa aniyang pamilya ang makikinabang sa programa.
Sa ilalim ng FSP, nagbibigay ang DSWD ng electronic benefit transfer na nagkakahalaga ng P3,000 sa kada pamilya upang ipambili ng mga benepisyaryo ng mga masusustansyang pagkain mula sa DSWD accredited local retailers. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
