Target ng pamahalaan na maaprubahan na sa pagtatapos ng taong kasalukuyan ang implementasyon ng voluntary 20% ethanol blend sa gasolina, na nakikitang isang paraan upang mapababa ang presyo nito.

Mula ito sa kasalukuyang 10% blend ethanol na mandatory requirement para sa gasolina.

Paliwanag ni Energy Secretary Rafael Lotilla, mas mura ang ethanol kumpara sa gasolina.
Ayon sa kalihim, ang presyo ng gasolina na walang halong ethanol ay naglalaro sa P56 kada litro.
Ang local ethanol naman ay nasa P79, habang nasa P41.44 ang imported nito.
Kung hahaluan aniya ng ethanol ang gasolina, inaasahan na bahagyang mahihila nito pababa ang presyo ng kada litro ng gasolina.
