Nakatanggap ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas Field Office ng iba’t ibang disaster response equipment mula sa World Food Programme (WFP)
Ito ay bahagi ng ika-10 taong komemorasyon ng bagyong Yolanda na tumama sa rehiyon.
Isinagawa ang ceremonial handover ceremony sa Palo, Leyte na dinaluhan ng mga opisyal ng DSWD at kinatawan ng key partners nito kabilang ang WFP at United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Kabilang sa mga natanggap na equipment ng ahensya ang reach truck, rice milling machine, automatic box sealing machine, portable vacuum sealing machine, retractable roller conveyor, hydraulic hand pallet trucks, plastic pallet bins, high volume low-speed ceiling fan, at generator set.
Ayon kay DSWD Undersecretary for Disaster Response and Management Group Diane Rose Cajipe, makatutulong ang donasyong ito para mapaigting pa ang response at preparedness efforts ng pamahalaan tuwing may kalamidad.
Partikular umanong gagamitin ito sa warehouse operations ng DSWD Eastern Visayas para mapalawak ang stockpiling capacity nito at mapabilis pa ang repacking ng relief goods.
