Umapela si House Deputy Minority Leader at Bagong Henerasyon Partylist Representative Bernadette Herrera sa Department of Justice (DOJ) na dito na lang sa Metro Manila gawin ang paglilitis sa mga opisyal ng Socorro Bayanihan Services Incorporated (SBSI) kaysa sa Surigao Del Norte.
Duda kasi ang mambabatas sa korte ng lalawigan dahil sa takot na naitanim na ng SBSI na umano’y kulto sa probinsiya.
Maliban dito pinaaaral din ni Herrera sa DOJ na sampahan ng iba pang kaso ang mga opisyal ng SBSI gaya ng malversation of public funds, paglabag sa paggamit ng armas, serious illegal detention, at terorismo oras na mapatunayan.
Pinakikilos din ng kinatawan ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), laban sa SBSI, kanilang field units, at local government units na nabigo o tumulong pa sa mga aktibidad ng SBSI.
“There was a gross failure of government authorities that allowed SBSI to persist and even usurp the powers of national and local governments,” sabi ni Herrera.
Hiling din nito sa DILG na bantayan ang mga munisipalidad at lugar na naimpluwensyahan o posibleng maimpluwensyahan pa ng grupo. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
