Pinaiimbestigahan ngayon sa Kamara ang mga digital bank na sangkot umano sa sugal.
Sa privilege speech ni House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo, tinukoy nito ang ang mga ulat na nakarating sa kaniyang tanggapan hingil sa pagkakasangkot ng Maya Digital Savings Bank sa iba’t ibang gambling apps na nagpapahintulot sa mga subscribers na makilahok sa mga sugal.
Aniya mula sa banking application ay mayroong mga link para sa gambling apps gaya ng Baccarat, Poker, Bingo, at iba pa kung saan maaaring tumaya gamit din ang Maya Mobile Wallet Service.
Kaya naman sa House Resolution 1464 ng mambabatas ay inaatasan ang angkop na komite para imbestigahan ang Maya at ang koneksyon nito sa mga sugal.
Para sa mambabatas, ang mga sugal sa platform ng Maya ay nangangailangan ng masusing imbestigasyon mula sa House of Representatives.
“This question strikes at the core of our responsibility as lawmakers to protect the interests of the millions of subscribers who rely on Maya Digital Savings Bank for their financial transactions and digital wallet needs. I firmly believe that it is our duty as representatives of the people to probe into the gambling links within Maya’s savings bank platform. We must ensure that the interests, financial security, and well-being of our constituents are safeguarded,” ani Tulfo.
Kinuwestyon din ni Tulfo kung alam ba ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang naturang pagkakaugnay sa mga sugal ng Maya.
Kaya umaasa si Tulfo na sa pamamagitan ng imbestigasyon ay kung nakakasunod ba ang Maya sa umiiral na batas at regulasyon at para sa proteksyon ng publiko.
“This investigation will shed light on whether these gambling activities are conducted in compliance with our laws and regulations, and whether they truly serve the best interests of our citizens. In conclusion, I call upon this esteemed House to support and initiate an investigation into the matter at hand. Let us work together to ensure that Maya Digital Savings Bank operates in a manner that upholds the values and standards we hold dear as a nation, all while protecting the interests of its millions of subscribers,” dagdag ni Tulfo.
