ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo on Thursday said there is “no unity against Vice President Sara Duterte” and that the House of Representatives under Speaker Martin Romualdez is instead bent on fostering unity in the country toward achieving President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s goal of natural progress.

Tulfo, the Deputy Majority Leader for Communications, had this to say in an interview even as he also clarified that the House of Representatives didn’t have any hand in the release of former Sen. Leila de Lima.

“There’s no such thing as unity against the Vice President. Unity behind Speaker Romualdez, I believe there’s unity to move this country forward,” Tulfo said.

“Yan din po ang hiling ni Pangulong Marcos, magsama-sama, walang maiiwan. That’s what we are still following right now and that’s the marching order from our Speaker, unite para sa taumbayan and move forward,” said Tulfo.

Tulfo denied that there were personalities who have united behind Speaker Romualdez who were on a collision course against those who have united in favor of Vice President Duterte.

“There’s no such thing. I can tell you now, we are united. May mga statements nga si Speaker na we will just continue to do our job and ‘yun yung instruction niya before he left going to the US, to do what we have to do, continue to work and pass those laws needed by the executive department,” he said.

Addressing queries about De Lima’s release, Tulfo said: “The former senator is enjoying temporary freedom after posting bail. This action is part of the judicial process. It had nothing to do with us in the House. Like I said, our main concern right now is to unite the country in order to achieve a better tomorrow.” ###
