Nakipag-partner ngayon ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) sa ComClark Network and Technology Corp. para mapalawak ang digital access sa mga malalayong lugar sa bansa.
Ngayong Martes, Nov. 21, pinangunahan ni DICT Sec. Ivan John Uy at ComClark Chief Operations Officer Benedicto Bulatao ang paglulunsad ng Universal Internet Subscription for GIDA Project sa tanggapan ng DICT sa Quezon City.
Sa ilalim nito, tinatarget ng DICT na makapaghatid ng internet connectivity sa higit 2,000 geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) sa bansa.
Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng fixed VSATS (satellite communications), fiber technology, at satellite-communications-on-the-move terminals na ide-deploy sa mga malalayong probinsya na walang maayos na internet connection.
Karamihan sa mga ito ay naka-deploy na sa iba’t ibang rehiyon.
Ayon kay DICT Sec. Ivan John Uy, sa kolaborasyong ito, patuloy na maisasakatuparan ang kanilang layuning makapagbigay ng mabilis at reliable internet connectivity lalo na sa malalayong lugar.

Sa tulong din ng mga satellite-communications-on-the-move terminals, mas mapapadali na aniya ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng national government sa mga LGU tuwing may tumatamang kalamidad.
Ayon naman kay ComClark Chief Operations Officer Benedicto Bulatao, nakapaloob din sa proyekto ang 145 gigabits (MIR) bandwidth capacity. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
