Nagkaroon ng executive session ang mga senador kasama ang security cluster ng administrasyon kaugnay ng bombing incident na nangyari sa Mindanao State University (MSU) nitong Linggo.
Layon ng naturang executive session na i-brief ang mga senador tungkol sa naturang insidente.
Kabilang sa mga present sa naturang pagpupulong sina National Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., PNP Chief PGen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., National Intelligence Coordinating Agnecy Director General Ricardo de Leon; at National Security Adviser Eduardo Año.
Sinabi ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na naging maganda ang briefing nila sa security cluster.
Tiniyak rin ni Zubiri na walang dapat ipag-alala ang publiko at tiniyak aniya ng intelligence sector na ligtas tayong lahat.
“We got a good briefing from our friends from intel service … they are now securing all high level possible threat areas which are places of where the public go to and there’s more of military and police presence all over the island of Mindanao since it is heightened level of alert. Together with Metro Manila. But we are all safe. In other words, after the briefing, it was shown that the Philippines is in safe hands. The military and the PNP have it under control.”- Sen. Zubiri
Binahagi rin ni Zubiri na local group ang tinitingnang persons of interest na nasa likod ng insidenteng ito.
Pinahayag rin ng senate leader na kailangan nilang hikayatin ang BARMM government at ang mga lokal na opisyal sa lugar na imonitor ang mga radicalization efforts sa lugar.
Sa huli, iginiit ni Zubiri na hindi tayo dapat maalarma dahil kapag nangyari ito ay ang mga terorista lang ang mananalo.
“We don’t want to have any alarmist statement kasi ayaw natin yan. Kasi kung alarmist tayo panalo na ang mga terorista. We should not be alarmed. We should not be afraid.
