Inaasahang darating ngayong araw ang pamilya at ang mga labi ng Pilipinong caregiver na nasawi sa gitna ng laban ng Israeli forces at Hamas militants.
Ayon sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), inaasahang lalapag ngayong hapon, December 23, lulan ng Etihad Airways flight EY424 sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 ang pamilya ni Paul Vincent Castalvi, upang dito ipagdiwang ang Pasko sa bansa at maiuwi ang mga labi nito sa kanilang mga mahal sa buhay.
Nakatakda naman silang salubungin ng mga opisyal mula sa Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at ni DMW Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac ang asawa ni Paul na si Jovelle Santiago at ang mga labi nito pagkalapag nito sa paliparan.
Si Castelvi, 42-anyos, isang caregiver na tubong Pampanga, ay kinidnap noong Oktubre 7 ng grupong Hamas malapit sa Gaza at kalaunan ay pinaslang bago ipanganak ang panganay na anak nito noong Nobyembre.
Bago magtungo ng Israel, sampung taon ding nagsilbi bilang isang school bus driver si Castelvi para suportahan ang kanyang mga kapatid at magulang. | ulat ni EJ Lazaro
