Pinuri ni Rizal 4th District Representative Fidel Nograles ang programa ng Department of Education (DepEd) na nagresulta sa pagtatanim ng halos dalawang milyong puno sa buong bansa.
Ayon kay Nograles, ang tagumpay ng 236,000 Christmas Trees program ay patunay na kayang maibalik ang pagiging luntian ng bansa.
“The success of the ‘236,000 Christmas Trees’ program points the way to how we can involve our institutions in efforts to restore our country’s greenery. That it has exceeded its target exponentially shows that there are many Filipinos who are eager to do their part to help,” saad ng mambabatas.
Batay sa ulat ng DepEd, higit 1.9 milyong puno ang naitanim sa lahat ng rehiyon na higit pa sa inisyal na target na 236,000.
Dahil naman dito, pinakokonsidera ni Nograles sa kagawaran na gawin nang taunang aktibidad ang tree-planting.
