Suportado ni Manila Representative Joel Chua ang panukala na itaas ang minimum wage sa buong bansa.
Ayon sa mambabatas, dapat nga ay wala nang minimum wage sa anumang rehiyon sa Pilipinas na mas mababa sa poverty-threshold na ₱13,797 kada buwan.
Ngunit dapat aniyang gawin ito sa paraang hindi manganganak ng iba pang problema.
Kung ipatutupad man aniya ang bersyon ng Senado na ₱100 across the board wage hike, maaari itong gawing pautay-utay sa loob ng tatlong taon upang hindi naman dehado ang mga maliliit na negosyo.
Mungkahi nito, itaas muna sa ₱40 ang arawang sahod sa unang taon, dagdagan ito ng ₱40 sa susunod at ang huling taon ay ₱20 hanggang sa makumpleto ang ₱100 wage hike para sa National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon, at Central Luzon.
Para naman sa iba pang rehiyon maaari aniyang gawing ₱35, ₱35, at ₱30 ang gawing umento sa minimum wage sa loob ng tatlong taon.
