Malaking tulong para sa dagdag kaalaman ng mga Pilipino kung mabubuksan ang sektor ng edukasyon sa dayuhang mamumuhunan.
Ito ang binigyang diin nina House Deputy Majority Leader at Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre, at Congressional Policy and Budget Research Department (CPBRD) Deputy Secretary General Dr. Romulo Emmanuel Miral Jr. sa isang pulong balitaan.
Kasama ang sektor ng edukasyon sa mga probisyon ng 1987 Constitution na nais amyendahan sa ilalim ng Resolution of Both Houses No. 6 at 7 ng Senado at Kamara o ang economic charter change.
Ayon kay Miral, pinalad siyang mapadala at mapag-aral abroad ngunit hindi aniya lahat ng Pilipino ay mabibigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon.
Kaya mas mainam kung mismong ang mga foreign education institution ang pumunta sa Pilipinas para mas magkaroon ng access ang mga Pilipino sa dagdag na kaalaman.
Ganito aniya ang sistema sa Singapore at Malaysia na bahagi ng naging pag-aaral ng CPBRD tungkol sa pagpasok ng foreign direct investment sa limang bansa sa ASEAN Region.
Pinawi rin ng opisyal ang pangamba ng ilan, na mabago ang pag-iisip at values ng mga Pilipino kapag nagpapasok ng banyagang institusyong pang akademya.
Aniya, wala naman nabago sa kaniyang Filipino values nang siya ay mag-aral abroad.
Sa panig naman ni Acidre, sinabi nito na dagdag exposure ang hakbang na ito para sa mga mag-aaral na magamit ang kanilang mga natutunan.
Una nang sinabi ni Ways and Means Committee Chair Joey Salceda, na kailangan ngayon ng education sector ng Pilipinas ng mga makabagong teknolohiya at foreign methodologies para mapagbuti ang kalidad ng pagtuturo sa bansa. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
