Aabot sa 541.66 million Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack ang naranasan ng website ng Kamara nitong Miyerkules, dahilan upang mahirapan sa pag-access nito.
Ayon kay House Secretary General Reginald Velasco, mula alas-8 hanggang alas-9 ng umaga umabot agad sa 53.72 million attacks ang naitala ng ICTS team ng Kamara.
Pawang mula Indonesia, US, Colombia, India at Russia ang cyberattacks ngunit posibleng gumagamit rin ang hackers ng VPN para mag-iba ng lokasyon.
Pagsapit naman ng mag alas-3 ng hapon ay pumalo ang cyberattack ng hanggang 487 million.
“A staggering 53.72 million attacks were recorded between 8 am and 9 am yesterday (Wednesday) originating from Indonesia, the United States, Columbia, India, and the Russian Federation, which may not be accurate if they are using a VPN,” ani Velasco.
“And at 2:52 pm yesterday (Wednesday), a whopping 487.93 million attacks were also recorded, from sources in Tunisia, Thailand and Greece, which again may not be accurate, which brings the total amount of attacks to 541.66 million,” dagdag niya.
Agad naman itong natugunan ng ICTS team ang problema at inilagay sa ‘Under Maintenance’ status ag website.
Pagsisiguro naman ni Velasco na nananatiling secure ang institutional information.
Hiniling din ni Velasco ang tulongn g DICT na imbestigahan ang naturang insidente at alamin kung saan nagaling ang mga pag-atake.
Partikular na kung ito ba ay may halong politika.
“We call on the DICT to investigate these DDoS attacks and ascertain where they are really coming from, if they are local or foreign hackers or a collaboration of both. We must know the reason for these attacks, is it for money or for political reasons as they may have been contracted to destabilize our institution for whatever purpose,” giit ni Velasco | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
