Nakakuha ng suporta mula kay House Assistant Majority Leader at Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Jil Bongalon ang mungkahi ni Deputy Speaker David Suarez na maglaan ng supplemental budget para sa Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)
Ayon kay Bongalon, hanggat hindi napunan ang deficit o kakulangan sa pondo dahil sa ginawang realignment ng P13 billion ay tinatanggalan ng pagkakataon ang family beneficiaries na makabangon mula sa kanilang kahirapan.
At dahil sa isa aniyang batas ang 4Ps, kung hindi ito maipatupad ng tama ay mawawalang saysay ang layunin.
“The longer the deficit stays, the more we deprive these 4 million poor Filipinos of a fighting chance to triumph over poverty. This program is meant to help poor Filipinos for a certain number of years, to help them in their daily needs and sending their children to school,” sabi ni Bongalon.
Dahil sa ginawang realignment sa ilalim ng 2023 budget nasa 843,000 na pamilya o 4 million mahihirap na Pilipino ang hindi nabigyan ng karampatang tulong.
“I strongly support this proposal to address the P9 billion deficit in the 4Ps. Batas po itong 4Ps, and we are mandated to fund its implementation. This will give justice to 4Ps beneficiaries who have been deprived of financial aid because of the deficit and the budget cut,” sabi ni Bongalon. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
